Eraser
Rub paint off the active layer in whatever brush tip is currently selected.
VIDEO ON THE WAY
Final video is on the way, thank you for your patience!
The Eraser is the Brush in reverse, so Size, Hardness and Opacity all apply and it erases in the shape of the selected brush tip. It lifts alpha only and never adds color.
Option bar
- Brush shape cell - Opens the Brushes browser. The eraser erases in this brush's shape. The thumbnail is drawn white, because the eraser lifts alpha.
- Clear This Layer - Empties the active layer across every visible submesh in one go, keeping the layer in the stack. Undoable.
- Clear Mesh - Wipes every layer on the selected submesh. This one asks first and cannot be undone.
The Clear Mesh confirmation
The dialog reads "This wipes ALL layers on the selected mesh, every stroke and color on it. This cannot be undone." Cancel is the focused button, and Escape, Return and Cmd or Ctrl+period all cancel, so a stray keypress cannot fire the destructive clear.
Notes
Hardness is shared with the Brush, so changing the Brush's Hard chip also changes how soft the eraser's edge is.
